WHAT DOES 22 FORWARD MEAN?

22 is a number that haunts the veteran community. For years, it represented the estimated number of veterans who died by suicide every single day in the United States. The real number is likely higher — and it has never stopped being a crisis.
Forward is the answer. Not backward into isolation. Not sideways into addiction. Forward — with support, with purpose, with community, and with the same drive that carried every service member through the hardest moments of their service.
22 Forward is a commitment: to acknowledge the weight of that number, to refuse to accept it as inevitable, and to build something that moves veterans, families, and communities in the only direction that matters.

The transition out of service can break down fast. PTSD, addiction, financial hardship, and isolation don't wait for a convenient moment. When veterans and families hit a wall, 22 Forward works to connect them with practical, immediate support — utilities, food, emergency assistance, and essential household needs — before the situation becomes a crisis.

Opportunity, not dependency.
The adrenaline of combat operations doesn't have a civilian equivalent — and that void is real. The skills that kept you alive in a firefight don't come with a civilian job description. Through education, workforce development, vocational training, and entrepreneurship resources, we help veterans translate extraordinary capability into real opportunity and rebuild a sense of purpose.

No one fights alone.
Isolation after service is one of the most dangerous things a veteran can face. The brotherhood of military service doesn't have a direct civilian equivalent — and that loss is profound. 22 Forward bridges veterans, families, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations, because the strongest support systems are built together.

22 Forward Foundation is a developing Florida nonprofit. We are in the early stages of building our programs, establishing our partnerships, and growing our capacity to serve. We will not claim impact we have not yet achieved. As we grow, we are committed to publishing verified data, annual reports, and honest accounting of how every dollar is used. We believe transparency is not optional — it is the foundation of trust, and trust is the foundation of everything we are building.
